Update: Father and 13-y-o son confirmed dead in stunt plane crash
BARCELONA Spain — Spanish emergency services confirmed recovery of two bodies, that of a father and son who were in a plane that crashed off the coast of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands, Spain on Saturday.
Reuters reports that the son is 13 years old and his father, an ex fighter pilot .
A search for the two had been launched on Saturday according to local media detailing that a stunt plane that had been performing acrobatics before crashing into the sea.
Witnesses on a boat in the area told media they saw the plane go down near the port of Soller near to the north coast of the Spanish island
Another witness told local media the plane had taken off around two hours earlier to perform a stunt routine.
An investigation is to be launched.
