U15 Boyz blank Belize 2-0 to open Concacaf Championships
Jamaica made a winning start to the Concacaf U15 Boys Championships on Monday, beating Belize 2-0 in their opening Group D game at Stadion CD Guillermo Trinidad in Aruba.
The young Reggae Boyz scored early in both halves, with Kevaughn Halloway grabbing the opener and substitute Carlando Morris adding the second to give the Jamaicans a positive start to the tournament.
Halloway was allowed a second chance at a loose ball in the first minute of play and lashed it past the Belize goalkeeper as the Jamaicans took an early lead.
Despite dominating the possession and creating more chances to score, Jamaica had to wait until three minutes into the start of the second half of the 70-minute game for a second goal. Morris, who had replaced Kelvin Brown, was well placed to rifle in a cross from Samuel Taylor.
Jamaica will return to action on Tuesday when they face Aruba.
