Back-to-back wins for U15 Boyz in Aruba
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica scored back-to-back wins to take over the lead in Group D of the Concacaf U15 Boys Championships after beating hosts Aruba 4-0 on Tuesday.
Carlondo Morris, one of six changes to the starting team that beat Belize 2-0 on Monday at the Stadion CD Guillermo Trinidad in Aruba, scored a brace as Jamaica improved to six points.
That is three more than Curacao and Belize, who are on three each, while Aruba sits at the foot of the table without a point, having lost both games played.
Morris was scoring in back-to-back games; he had come off the bench on Monday to score Jamaica’s second goal, securing the win, and is now on three goals.
Also on Tuesday, Belize rebounded from their loss to Jamaica to edge Curacao 2-1.
Jamaica will need just a draw against Curacao on Wednesday to secure their place in the semi-final.
The young Reggae Boyz led 1-0 at half time when Morris scored from close range and gave Jamaica the lead in the 25th minute.
He completed his brace in the 56th minute with another strike from close range before substitute Kelvin Brown made the score 3-0 when he found the net in the 59th minute.
Another substitute, Kyle Hussey, got a fourth when he muscled his way past two defenders to score from two yards out in time added on in the second half.
