Loni Anderson dies at 79
Actress Loni Anderson, best known for her role as Jennifer Marlowe on the hit sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati, has died at age 79.
According to TMZ news, Anderson’s longtime publicist Cheryl J Kagan, shared that she had passed away Sunday at a Los Angeles hospital following a “prolonged” illness. While the exact cause of death has not been disclosed, her family released a statement to the Associated Press expressing their grief: “We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother.”
Anderson rose to fame playing the intelligent and glamorous receptionist at a struggling radio station on WKRP in Cincinnati, a popular show that aired in the late 1970s and early 1980s, TMZ reports.
In addition to her sitcom success, Anderson had a memorable role in “A Night at The Roxbury”, playing Barbara Butabi, the flashy mother of the film’s eccentric brothers, portrayed by Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan.
Her death comes just days before what would have been her 80th birthday.
