Senior Citizens Domino tournament continues today
The 2025 Senior Citizens Domino Tournament continues today at Bustamante High School in Lionel Town, Clarendon, and according to Humbert Davis, National Association of Domino Bodies (NADB) president, he is expecting another exciting day of competition.
Davis said the tournament has been a huge success so far, promoting mental stimulation, social connections, and camaraderie among seniors. The event, according to Davis, has brought together seniors from various parishes, fostering a sense of community and healthy competition.
“This tournament is more than just a game; it’s a celebration of life, friendship, and the spirit of competition,” Davis told the
Jamaica Observer.
“We’re thrilled to see the seniors come together, showcase their skills, and enjoy each other’s company. The energy and enthusiasm were palpable, and we’re expecting another thrilling day of dominoes. We’re grateful to Bustamante High School for hosting us and we’re looking forward to another great day,” Davis further said.
The tournament had already seen some impressive matches, with Green Vindel and Earl Davis emerging as winners in the first phase. The championship trophy, named after Florette Blackwood, had been awarded to the winners.
“Green Vindel and Earl Davis showed exceptional skill and strategy in the first phase, and we’re thrilled to have them as our winners. The Florette Blackwood trophy is a fitting tribute to their outstanding performance, and we look forward to seeing what the rest of the tournament has in store,” Davis ended.
