Confidence builder
Red Stripe’s WeCAN Resource Group hosts workshop to empower women
AS part of Red Stripe’s commitment to building a more inclusive, people-first workplace, the WeCAN Women’s Resource Group recently hosted a confidence-building workshop, an afternoon of learning, reflection, and empowerment for women across the business.
“From the moment the session began, I felt like I was being poured into,” shared Sydoney Whitlock, a Red Stripe summer intern. “It set the tone for everything that followed. We were being spoken to and seen. I left knowing that confidence is something I can grow into, not something I have to already possess.”
Held at the company’s Vibes Bar, the session was facilitated by Donna Henry, an acclaimed learning and development professional known for her people-first approach to leadership. Participants explored tools for navigating self-doubt, embracing authenticity, and stepping into leadership roles with greater intention.
“We often show up for the business, for our families, for everyone else and this was a chance to show up for ourselves,” said Dian Rance, channel development manager (off trade). “It reminded me that confidence is not about being loud, it’s about being grounded in who you are.”
The interactive session blended discussion, role plays, and reflection exercises, helping participants unlock their voice, build clarity, and find strength in community.
“Confidence is a journey and workshops like these are a powerful reminder that we’re not walking it alone,” said Henry. “When women are given the tools and space to grow, the ripple effect reaches entire teams and transforms how we show up at work.”
This initiative is part of a wider series of employee-led activations designed to celebrate and amplify the voices of women across the company. Through WeCAN (Women Empowerment through Collaboration, Allyship & Networking), Red Stripe continues to build a culture of visibility, connection, and opportunity.
“WeCAN is a platform for women to connect, lead, and shape the future of our business,” said Tyheissa Williams, Red Stripe brand and corporate PR manager. “And this workshop is one of the many ways we’re turning intention into action.”
The session also helped spotlight the role of employee resource groups in creating safe spaces and supporting continuous learning.
“What stood out for me was how real and relatable the session was,” said Tashea Grant, a summer intern. “From the role plays to the written reflections, everything helped us understand our worth. I left feeling braver, more grounded, and ready to take on challenges.”
