Run Julie Run expected to claim feature race
THE stage is set for
Run Julie Run
to claim victory in the $1.4-million Poorlittlerichgirl feature race at Caymanas Park this afternoon.
After finishing second to top-class horses in her last two outings, the Ian Parsard-trained filly is poised to lead her rivals en route to victory.
In her previous starts
Run Julie Run narrowly lost to
Funcaandun by a length and three-quarters in a nine-furlong, 25-yard (1,820m) race on June 15. She then finished seven lengths behind the talented
Desert of Malibu over seven and a half furlongs (1,500m) on July 5.
However, with neither
Funcaandun nor
Desert of Malibu in today’s field
Run Julie Run appears to have a clear path to victory. Her recent workouts have been good, with times of 1:15.2 for six furlongs (1,200m) on July 27 and 39.2 for three furlongs (600m) on August 3.
With Dane Dawkins replacing Reyan Lewis aboard,
Run Julie Run’s chances of winning look strong. Given her impressive form and talent it’s hard to bet against
Run Julie Run delivering another winning performance.
The Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward over seven and a half furlongs is positioned as the eighth event on the nine race card with a post time of 5:05 pm. First race is scheduled for 12:15 pm.
While
Run Julie Run is expected to dominate the feature race, one horse stands out as a potential threat to her glory:
Rideallday. Trained by Philip Feanny, the American-bred colt has been on a winning streak, taking three consecutive races by a combined margin of over 23 lengths.
His recent workout, completing four furlongs in 47.3 seconds out of the straight on August 4, further solidifies his credentials. Moreover, the switch from Ian Spence to Paul Francis in the saddle sends a strong signal that
Rideallday’s connections are confident in his ability to deliver.
With
Rideallday stepping up in class to compete in this high-stakes race the question on everyone’s mind is: Can he upset
Run Julie Run’s plans for victory?
The rivalry between these two talented horses is set to make the race an electrifying spectacle.
Blue Vinyl,
Rhythm Buzz,
Wall Street Trader, and
Unspun are potential candidates that can impact on the outcome of this race.
