Chang credits Holness for leading Jamaica through COVID, reviving economy
KINGSTON, Jamaica – General Secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), Dr Horace Chang has hailed Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness for steering the country through difficult times.
Speaking to JLP supporters at a mass rally in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew on Sunday night, Chang pointed out that it was under Holness’ leadership that the country was able to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic with “dignity, the strength and character”.
“… And Jamaica came out of it with the fastest recovery … (than) any other country in the Western Hemisphere,” the deputy prime minister indicated.
He credited Holness for making the economy stable following the disruption caused by the pandemic.
“Andrew Holness leads; he has brought the economy back to stability so we can find resources to spend on the problems – building highways, water supply, hospitals, HOPE housing for poor people, (and) social pension… Andrew Holness cares; he is concerned and he is committed to giving you a country in which every Jamaican can feel safe and they can realise their dreams,” Chang declared.
In his closing message to labourites, the JLP general secretary reminded that there is “one man” that can lead Jamaica on the road to a safer and more prosperous society.
“When the time come, mek sure you put that X beside the bell, and reaffirm the mandate for the Jamaica Labour Party and Andrew Holness… You need a leader to complete the task if you want safety, reduce violence, increase prosperity, (and) you must travel that road with Dr Andrew Michael Holness,” Chang urged labourites.
