Being in a one-way relationship is tough for the committed person, something Lisa Lee found out some years ago. While still smarting from that experience, she wrote The Truth, a heartfelt song produced by Blue IQ.

Her first released single, it came out three years ago. Citing The Truth’s relevance, the singer revived its promotion.

“Being in a relationship with someone who had me, but didn’t know how to love me, was a deeply conflicting experience. I gave my softness, my loyalty, my heart — but I was in a space where love wasn’t nurtured in return,” said Lisa Lee. “What I wanted was simple…to feel safe enough to let my guard down, to be cherished, and to be met with the kind of care I was willing to give.”

Originally from Spanish Town, she has been a member of the United States Army for six years. Her interest in music began as a child at church in her hometown, but it was not until 2022 that Lisa Lee began officially recording.

Determined to make a statement with her debut song, she chose a personal issue women in similar situations could identify with.

“I believe a lot of women can relate to this — the inner battle between wanting to surrender in love, yet having to armor up because the environment doesn’t feel emotionally safe,” said Lisa Lee. “I’m learning now that love isn’t just about presence; it’s about intention, consistency, and emotional safety. And I won’t settle for less again.”

Ending my Time, her second song, was released this month. It is also produced by Blue IQ.
