Rideallday dominates Poorlittlerichgirl Trophy with impressive win
RIDEALLDAY delivered a stunning performance in the $1.4-million Poorlittlerichgirl Trophy feature at Caymanas Park on Saturday, effortlessly dominating the Open Allowance contest over seven and a half furlongs (1,500m).
Trained by Philip Feanny and ridden by Paul Francis, the three-year-old American-bred grey/roan colt showcased his impressive speed and endurance while beating rivals by three and three quarter lengths.
As the race unfolded, Rideallday battled with Run Julie Run (Dane Dawkins) down the backstretch, displaying his competitive spirit. But as they entered the half-mile (800m) turn he kicked into high gear, opening up a clear gap between himself and the rest of the field.
Despite a spirited challenge from Sheer Delight (Aaron Chatrie) turning for home Rideallday proved unbeatable, crossing the finishing line in 1:31.1 (24.0 x 46.4 x 1:11.2 x 1:24.2). Sheer Delight finished second while Rhythm Buzz (Phillip Parchment) took third place.
Trainer Joseph Thomas celebrated a significant milestone in his career as Balistic Missile gave him his 300th winner in the second race.
Ridden by Shane Ellis, Balistic Missile delivered a convincing performance to win the Maiden Condition race over the five-furlong straight course.
The colt made one decisive move to secure the victory, crossing the finishing line one and a half lengths ahead of the runner-up in a time of 1:03.4.
Racing continues on Saturday.
