Stalk Ashley hungry for more, preps new music
Having just released Chosen, a track that could stand as a powerful testimony of resilience, dancehall dynamo Stalk Ashley says she’s been having a year unlike any other.
The pint-sized deejay who is still reeling from an impressive showing at Reggae Sumfest’s Blitz said she has no intention of slowing her roll. She’s hoping to kick her career into new gear as she hopes to end 2025 on a high.
“I’ve been doing a lot of work, and so I have so much in store for my fans, it’s crazy. They’re going to be blown away by what is to come. I have so many collaborations, so many bangers. Ya’ll have to just stay tuned,” the entertainer said in a recent chat with the Jamaica Observer.
Outlining that once she pleases her core audience, anything else is “brawta”, Stalk Ashley said she has been blessed to be allowed to do what she loves.
“I can’t complain about my journey in music so far. I have worked extremely hard, and I have seen where that has paid off. I have been able to not only grow my fan base in Jamaica but also all over the world. I have a collaboration coming with a Japanese artiste and that will be different,” she said. “It’s just been an amazing ride, and there’s more to come. More collaborations are coming from artistes from Africa, just different regions worldwide. I have so much work to drop in the latter part of this year, and I’m so excited for that.”
The entertainer, who has also faced her fair share of hiccups for the year, dubbed herself an overcomer as she vowed to continue to rise above life’s challenges. She says she sees herself on huge global stages and will not be swayed by negativity in any way, shape, or form.
“I keep grinding no matter the odds, and that is what has been keeping Stalk Ashley grounded… My main focus is music. That’s what it’s really about at the end of the day,” she said.
