PNP election manifesto available in patois
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Apart from being available on all streaming platforms such as Apple Podcast, Amazon Music and Soundcloud, the 2025 General Election Manifesto of the People’s National Party (PNP), titled Jamaica Love, is also available in patois.
PNP Deputy General Secretary, Nekeisha Burchell, addressing the launch at the Jamaica Pegasus in New Kingston this evening, said, “Everywhere you can click, you will find the People’s National Party’s 2025 love letter to the people. This year, the manifesto is also available in our native tongue, in the Jamaican patois”.
An audio clip in patois was played, summarising the party’s plans under the Rural Initiative to Deliver Education (RIDE) Programme, which will assist needy children with a $500 per day subsidy to offset the cost of bus fare.
It also summarised the Ensuring Adequate Sustenance for Education (EASE) programme under which needy students will be provided with a cooked meal each day.
At the end of the audio clip, Burchell said, “That is our Jamaican patois courtesy of the People’s National Party’s Manifesto 2025.”
“This, ladies and gentlemen, is democracy at work, and if you left from your homes across this country to be here this evening, know that this love letter has been sealed with the kiss of the People’s National Party and you are witnessing democracy at work,” she added.
