Proudest Vision no longer a maiden
PROUDEST Vision bounced back impressively from a narrow loss to Legal Fight on August 1, securing a convincing win in the maiden condition race for native-bred three-year-olds on August 9, 2025.
Trained and owned by Carlton Cunningham, the three-year-old chestnut filly was ridden by apprentice jockey Shaheem Gordon to a length-and-a-half victory over 5½ furlongs (1,100m). Proudest Vision won in a time of 1:10.2.
From a good start, Proudest Vision settled into second place behind first-time starter Rush of Class (Oneil Mullings), patiently waiting behind the leader for most of the way.
As the field approached the final furlong Proudest Vision made her decisive move, changing gears and surging past Rush of Class to take the lead. With a commanding performance she pulled away to win easily, crossing the finishing line a length and a half ahead of Royal Maverick (Robert Halledeen), with Rush of Class finishing in third place.
Proudest Vision is bred by Patton Proud out of the Pollard’s Vision mare Visionary Wonder and was running only for the fourth time.
The win was Cunningham’s fifth for the season.
