Reggae Boy Antonio joins TNT Sports
Reggae Boy Michail Antonio has joined the TNT Sports punditry team for the upcoming English Premier League season.
TNT Sports unveiled the team of analysts on Monday, also featuring Gareth Bale, Fara Williams, Jen Beattie and Anita Asante.
“It’s in my name. I’m meant to be on the Mic! Can’t wait for the new season with TNT!” Antonio wrote on social media in response to the announcement.
Antonio, who is now a free agent after failing to agree on a contract extension with West Ham, still has a desire to resume his football career.
The 35-year-old resumed playing for Jamaica this summer during the Concacaf Gold Cup, after recovering from a car crash in December, and is likely to be called up for Steve McClaren’s squad against Bermuda, and Trinidad and Tobago next month in the final round of Concacaf World Cup Qualifying matches.
“The future for me is obviously still playing,” he said in a recent interview with Hayters TC. “I’ve always said that I want to keep going and keep pushing myself.
“I’ve got a lot left in me and, obviously, now I’ve got more to prove to come back from where I have and how quickly I’ve done it. I’m kind of pushing myself to go again. I’m speaking to some clubs right now so you’ll be seeing me again.”
