Escapee shot and killed by police in St Ann
ST ANN, Jamaica — An inmate who escaped from the Ocho Rios Police Station was subsequently shot and killed after allegedly attacking a lawman.
The incident happened sometime after 8:00 am on Wednesday.
Observer Online understands that the victim ran from the station onto Milford Road in Ocho Rios, where a team of lawmen tried to apprehend him.
The victim was shot and injured but later died at the hospital.
St Ann has recorded an 18 per cent decrease in serious crimes.
Since the start of the year, the parish has recorded 35 murders when compared to 36 in the corresponding period in 2024.
