Youngster with dream of becoming pilot takes first flight courtesy of Aeronautical School of the West Indies
KINGSTON, Jamaica—A young man whose story has captivated the hearts of many following his viral story of encountering bullies at school due to his physical appearance is one step closer to his dream of becoming a pilot after his first flight on Wednesday courtesy of the Aeronautical School of the West Indies in Kingston.
Kaffir recently shared with car enthusiast Nick Lue that he suffers from a blood disorder which causes his bones to grow faster than usual causing him to have an enlarged head. This has caused the youngster to be the subject of bullying at his school.
The situation has prompted Kaffir’s mother to reach out to Lue, Kaffir’s idol, who publicly reached out to the youngster and has spoken out against bullying.
In a captioned video shared to his Instagram account, Lue said: “Another Blessed Day! If you would have been following the Journey since we met Kaffir who had said his dream was to become a Pilot when he’s older got to experience his first flight today all courtesy of the @aeronautical_school here in Jamaica! I wanna say a heart felt thank you for granting him this opportunity! Big respects to Capt Richards, Hassanah, Mr Gooden and the entire team there! Give God the Glory! 🙏🇯🇲! ON3JAMAICA!,”
In the video, Kaffir got first-hand experience behind the control wheel of a small plane under the supervision of a pilot as they took a flight in the Corporate Area.
