Duhaney Drive to be closed for 10 days — NWA
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Works Agency (NWA) has announced that a section of Duhaney Drive in Duhaney Park, Kingston, will be closed for 10 days to facilitate the replacement of drainage gratings in the community beginning Sunday at 9:00 am.
The closure will include the removal of the existing drainage infrastructure, concrete works and the installation of new gratings. The targeted location is the grating just below Waterhouse Drive.
Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, said the closure is necessary, as the drain spans the entire width of the roadway.
During the period of closure, motorists heading towards Perkins Boulevard from the direction of Washington Boulevard can use Baldwin Crescent.
Another route from Duhaney Drive is to turn right onto Waterhouse Drive, left onto Sherlock Crescent and then turn right onto Abberville Avenue. For either alternative route, the reverse can be used for persons coming from the direction of Abberville Avenue.
The NWA is advising motorists to exercise caution while using the roadway during the period and to observe the instructions of flag persons and posted signs.
