WATCH: PNP caretaker promises water relief, job opportunities for St Thomas Western
KINGSTON, Jamaica — People’s National Party (PNP) caretaker for St Thomas Western, Hubert Williams, has pledged to tackle the long-standing water shortage in the constituency, if elected to Parliament.
Speaking during a tour of the area alongside PNP President and Leader of the Opposition Mark Golding, Williams assured residents that within six months of him becoming Member of Parliament, their taps would run so freely that “if you leave your pipe on and go out, you will come back to a flooded house.”
Calling himself “the performance boss,” Williams said he has the skills and experience to deliver results.
He also pointed to Golding’s recent visits to the constituency as proof of the party’s commitment.
“The support is there. My leader believes in me,” Williams told residents.
Beyond water, Williams said job creation and skills development would be priorities under a PNP government. He promised training programmes for young people to open up more opportunities in the community.
“The PNP believe in education, and when we talk about education, we’re not just talking about academics. We’re talking about skill training and all those things. Good days are coming. The PNP gonna give this community a new deal,” he said.
