Beenie Man, QQ, Yaksta perform at PNP final parish rally
KINGSTON, Jamaica–Dancehall entertainers Beenie Man, QQ and Yaksta took to the stage at the People’s National Party (PNP) Kingston and St Andrew parish meeting in Cross Road, St Andrew, to endorse the party’s bid to form the next government.
Beenie Man, whose real name is Moses Davis, is no stranger to supporting the PNP.
He got the crowd jumping to his 2006 hit, Heart Attack.
Following that short performance, the former King of the dancehall said he was not there to stay long, but shook hands with PNP President Mark Golding and other officials.
“Respect all a mi comrades dem,” said the seasoned deejay, while performing another hit, ‘Dem no like me’.
He then called Golding to join him on centre stage, as he continued his performance.
“Yuh know weh we ago do after election day?” Beenie Man asked the crowd, after which he belted out another hit, ‘Rum and Red Bull’.
For his short set, QQ performed Tek It To Dem, Stukie and One Drop.
Said QQ to the audience: “Mek sure on September third, X beside the,” to which the audience replied, “The Head.”
Yaksta was third to follow, performing his hits and lines from the Bob Marley’s, One Love.
“Mi just want big up every Member of Parliament (caretakers), (and) Mr Christopher Henry (St Andrew North Central candidate), big man bless up…, But tonight we represent fi power, we represent fi love, anything we do we do brawling,” the entertainer said.
