Chang highlights JLP care for public sector workers in nomination address
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for St James North Western, Dr Horace Chang, courted public sector workers in his address to party supporters in Sam Sharpe Square on Monday.
“One thing with this Government, in looking at the sacrifice of people…we gave the public servants the largest increase in public salary…and there’s no talk about freezing wages.”
He maintained that public servants will be provided with reasonable compensation packages.
“We will look at all public servants with the intent to increase our productivity [so] that more people will move…to prosperity,” he said.
He was speaking on nomination day, August 18 and urged supporters to vote on September 3.
