Dwayne Vaz confident in Westmoreland Central victory
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — People’s National Party (PNP) candidate for Westmoreland Central, Dwayne Vaz, says he is confident that he will regain his seat in September’s General Election.
Vaz, who served as Member of Parliament from 2014 to 2020 when he lost to George Wright, said: “We are confident based on what we are seeing on the ground…The party is in good standing…So we expect to be victorious not only in Westmoreland Central but in Westmoreland as a whole and in Jamaica as a whole.”
“We know that the People’s National Party will be the next government in Jamaica,” he affirmed.
A member of his campaign team said previous losses could be attributed to the PNP base not turning out, but vowed that would not be the case this time around.
