PNP confirms full slate of candidates for general election
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The People’s National Party (PNP) has confirmed that all its standard-bearers were successfully nominated in constituencies across the island during today’s official Nomination Day proceedings.
PNP General Secretary, Dr Dayton Campbell said while there were some challenges in a few constituencies, the overall process went smoothly.
He described the day as the start of the party’s final push toward victory in the upcoming General Election.
“Every single PNP candidate was successfully nominated, and we stand united, ready, and committed to building a fairer, more just Jamaica under the leadership of Mark J Golding,” Dr Campbell said.
The day saw thousands of PNP supporters turning out across the country, energising the party’s candidates as they pledged their commitment to their constituencies and the wider vision for Jamaica.
Among those making their declarations were newcomers to representation politics Gabriela Morris, who will contest the St Ann North West seat, Steve McGregor in Kingston Central and Janice Allen, who will contest the St James Central constituency.
The PNP said Morris “represents a new generation stepping forward with fresh ideas and bold solutions”, while McGregor “emphasised service rooted in discipline, fairness, and dedication”.
PNP President Mark Golding hailed the successful nominations as evidence of the party’s strength and preparedness heading into the election.
“Today we confirmed a full slate of outstanding candidates, men and women of integrity, vision, and commitment to service. The People’s National Party is united, energised, and determined to deliver a government that prioritises fairness, opportunity, and dignity for every Jamaican,” Golding said.
With its candidates officially nominated, the PNP says it will intensify public engagement as it promotes its manifesto, “Mission J.A.M.A.I.C.A L.O.V.E,” in the lead-up to the polls.
