Eight inmates escape from Constant Spring jail, one caught
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Observer Online understands that there was a major jailbreak at the Constant Spring Police Station lock-up Tuesday morning during which eight inmates escaped.
One of the escapees was quickly recaptured by the cops but seven remain at large.
“They cut a door and escaped, we are scouring the area to find them,” a source from the St Andrew North police division told Observer Online.
The corporate communications arm of the Jamaica Constabulary Force confirmed the incident.
“We can confirm that eight male prisoners escaped, one was recaptured. We haven’t got any further details,” a representative said.
