JFM/JPP nominates 47 candidates for September 3 general election
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica First Movement (JFM), in partnership with the Jamaica Progressive Party (JPP), has nominated 47 candidates to contest the upcoming general election scheduled for September 3.
Head of the JFM, Al Miller, described the development as a milestone in the movement’s push to “build a New Jamaica.”
“The Jamaica First Movement (JFM), through its alliance, Jamaica Progressive Party (JPP), by the grace of God, has successfully nominated its candidates for the upcoming elections, marking a significant step forward in its mission to build a New Jamaica” Miller said.
The JFM added that the movement was offering Jamaicans “a vehicle of hope and transformation,” positioning itself as an alternative to the current political landscape.
“This is an alternative through which Jamaicans can express their desire for a united and prosperous future. We invite everyone to take the journey with us,” the spokesperson said.
While acknowledging that a few candidates were unable to complete the nomination process due to system challenges, the JFM said its “vision and momentum remain strong.”
The movement is also appealing to Jamaicans to support its campaign through financial contributions. The initiative seeks to engage 100,000 supporters, each donating between $1,000 and $5,000, to fund what it describes as “a message of hope and change across the nation.”
