BLOCKBUSTER CLASHES AWAIT

BLOCKBUSTER CLASHES AWAIT

Bayern Munich takes on RB Leipzig in Bundesliga opener, while Chelsea looks to bounce back against West Ham in London derby

An intriguing London derby featuring West Ham and Chelsea will kick off week two in the Premier League, while the Bundesliga season is set to kick off with a blockbuster clash, as Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig go head-to-head at the Allianz Arena later today.

Event # 1 – GER – Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig – 1:30 PM

In what is expected to be a heavyweight opening weekend clash, the new German Bundesliga campaign will see a blockbuster matchup, featuring the defending champions Bayern Munich hosting perennial challengers RB Leipzig, at home, in an eagerly anticipated showdown. With that said, Bayern Munich, who regained the title they had lost to Bayer Leverkusen the previous season, will start this season as favourites to win the title again. The record winners have maintained their winnings ways dating back to last season, as evidence in their recent performances. In their most recent game, they defeated Stuttgart 2-1 last weekend to be crowned Super Cup champions. Indeed, Bayern Munich has been in impressive form recently with four wins and one loss from their last five overall matches.

RB Leipzig, who are perennial challengers for the Bundesliga title in recent years, will be aiming to improve on their seventh placed finish last season. However, they will need improve on their end-of-season form from the previous campaign, where they failed to win any of their final matches of last season, finishing the season with a 3-2 home defeat to Stuttgart. They have gained a reputation of being poor travellers in Bundesliga, having mustered just a single win from their any of their last 10 matches away from home last season, a run that started back on December 7, 2024. And with their opening match of the new season, a game away to the reigning champions Bayern Munich, confidence might not be at its all-time high.

Key Stats

●Bayern Munich– Bayern Munich won 14 of their 17 Bundesliga home matches last season.

•RB Leipzig – RB Leipzig won just one of their final 10 away matches in the Bundesliga last season.

•Both sides – The last time Bayern Munich hosted RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena back in December 2024, they spanked them 5-1 in a one-sided affair.

The betting Tip.Bayern

Event # EPL – West Ham vs Chelsea – 2:00 PM

West Ham and Chelsea will go head-to-head in another London derby later today, as both teams are aiming to bounce back from dismal displays in their opening matches last week. West Ham appeared to have had the easiest game in the Premier League on the opening day of the season and yet they were ambushed and hammered three nil by newly promoted side Sunderland. After spending most of last season fighting it out at the bottom end of the table, the Hammers, West Ham, could find themselves at the heart of another relegation fight again this season, and with a wounded Chelsea side next up for them, it’s crucial that they secure at least a point at home in this match to alleviate the fears of another relegation battle.

Chelsea, similar to West Ham, kicked off their campaign in a less than impressive fashion, playing to a goalless draw with Crystal Palace, even though one could say that this Crystal Palace side is in the form of their lives, having recently defeated Liverpool to lift the English Community Shield trophy. Apart from their stalemate last weekend, Chelsea enters this clash in excellent form, having lost just one of their previous 13 matches, winning 10 during this run. Indeed, Chelsea are in great shape, having won the Club World Club last month, comfortably brushing aside the current European champions, PSG, 3-0 in a dominant display in the final. They followed that performance with victories over Leverkusen (2-0) and AC Milan (4-1) but were unable to maintain their winning streak against an in-form Crystal Palace side in their opening game. However, they will be aiming to bounce back against an out-of-form West Ham team.

Key Stats

•West Ham – West Ham managed just one win from their final eight matches last season.

•Chelsea – Chelsea have won all three previous matches against West Ham by an aggregate score of 10-1.

•Both sides – The last time both teams met back on February 3, Chelsea won 2-1 at home.

The betting Tip.Chelsea win.
