Foreign ministry pursuing early return of Jamaican national from Eswatini
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Senator Kamina Johnson Smith says Isaac Etoria, the Jamaican national detained in the Kingdom of Eswatini, is in good spirits and that her team is steadfast in its efforts towards the early return of Etoria to Jamaica.
Jonhson Smith in a statement on Friday, said a representative of the Jamaican High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa, accompanied by the Honorary Consul for Jamaica in Eswatini, paid a consular visit to Isaac Etoria on 21st August 2025.
“The team found Mr Etoria in good spirits. The ministry was further advised that Mr Etoria has received regular medical attention, and arrangements are being put in place for further connection with his family and needs,” she said.
The foreign affairs minister said her ministry continues its steadfast efforts towards the early return of Etoria to Jamaica and remains in contact with the family Etoria through its Embassy in Washington, D.C.
