Old Hope Road man charged with murder of relative
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A man has been charged with the murder of his relative following a fatal shooting incident in Standpipe, Kingston 6, on Tuesday, July 15.
Charged is 29-year-old Daniele Powell. of an Old Hope Road, Kingston 6 address, while the deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Peter Lyndsay, otherwise called’ Gregory,’ of Standpipe.
Reports from the Half Way Tree Police are that both men, who are relatives, were in a long-standing feud. It is alleged that about 10:45 am on July 15, during an argument between the two, Powell retrieved a firearm and opened gunfire at Lyndsay. When the shooting subsided, Lyndsay was seen nursing gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
On Tuesday, August 19, Powell turned himself in to the police, in the company of his attorney.
He was then charged after a warrant was executed on him.
His court date is being finalised.
