Police announce traffic changes for PNP Manchester public meeting
KINGSTON, Jamaica–The police are advising the public of the following traffic changes to facilitate the People’s National Party (PNP) public meeting to be held on Sunday, August 24, in Mandeville.
The changes will take effect from 10:00 pm on Saturday, August 23 and will end at 5:00 am on Monday, August 25.
Diversion Point 1:
Vehicles intended on entering the town from the Royal Flat area via Villa Road or Caledonia Road will be diverted along Main Street onto Brigade Crescent.
Vehicles intended on entering the town from New Green area will be diverted off Main Street unto Brigade Crescent
Designated parking areas:
Nashville (located off Main Street, Mandeville) which will facilitate parking for supporters entering the town of Mandeville from New Green, Caledonia Road, James Warehouse and Villa Road.
Diversion Point 2: (to be enforced at 10:00 pm, Saturday, August 23):
Vehicles intended on entering the town of Mandeville from South Manchester, via Manchester Road or using Newleigh and Wesley Road will be diverted onto Grove Road.
Designated parking areas:
Manchester High School and Mandeville parish church (accessed from Willogate, Mandeville) will facilitate parking for supporters entering the town of Mandeville from South Manchester, Manchester Road, Newleigh Road & Wesley Road.
Diversion Point 3:
Vehicles intended on entering the town from Old Greenvale Road or Perth Road will proceed along Caledonia Road.
Designated parking areas:
Mandeville Plaza (located off Plaza Road, Mandeville) will facilitate parking for supporters entering the town from Old Greenvale Road, Perth Road, and Ward Avenue.
Diversion Point 4:
Vehicles intended on entering the town from Ward Avenue will merge left onto Caledonia Road.
Designated parking areas:
Mandeville Plaza (located off Plaza Road, Mandeville) will facilitate parking for supporters entering the town from Old Greenvale Road, Perth Road, and Ward Avenue.
Motorists are being asked to obey the directives of the police.
