Rocket Fire Seb blasts off dominant 11 ¾-length win in Caymanas 66th Anniversary Trophy
Rocket Fire Seb, the talented three-year-old American-bred bay colt, has been on a roll, securing back-to-back victories that have left racing enthusiasts buzzing. On Saturday, August 16, 2025, he delivered a stunning performance in the $1.19-million Caymanas 66th Anniversary Trophy, winning by an impressive 11 ¾ lengths.
Ridden by jockey Raddesh Roman, Rocket Fire Seb made one smooth move to take the lead and cruised home to victory, stopping the clock at 1:25.4 over 7 furlongs (1,400m). The splits told the story of his dominance, with fractions of 24.2, 48.0, and 1:12.4.
Trainer Spencer Chung beamed with pride after the win, expressing his optimism about Rocket Fire Seb’s bright future.
“We’re always pleased with a win, and you just hope that they stay sound and will improve from here on,” Chung told the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide.
“We’ve stretched out the distance to seven furlongs, and he seems to have relished it more. The time of 1:25.4 is a great performance for the first time going the distance,” he added.
With Rocket Fire Seb’s current form, Chung’s plans for the colt are ambitious.
“Well, the plan going forward is to win everything that you can win,” he said with a smile.
Rocket Fire Seb got off to a strong start, breaking well and settling into a comfortable rhythm. As the field headed down the backstretch, he coupled up nicely on the front end as Riches to Rags (Tyrese Anderson), Lockdown (Dane Dawkins), and Miss Grove (Dick Cardenas) were hot on their heels.
As they entered the half-mile (800m) turn, Rocket Fire Seb upped the ante, increasing his tempo and establishing a strong lead ahead of Lockdown and Miss Grove. Fearless Mission (Emelio McLean) and
Riches to Rags chased relentlessly, but Rocket Fire Seb was in control.
Turning for home, Rocket Fire Seb had already built a commanding lead, and he held on to it straight to the wire, crossing the finish line first ahead of Fearless Mission and Riches to Rags. His convincing win showcased his speed, stamina, and class.
