ROK Hotel reiterates support for Mouttet Mile
Building on the success of previous years, ROK Hotel is once again throwing its support behind the Mouttet Mile invitational, with General Manager Amit Mahbubani citing the event’s strong brand and cultural significance as key reasons for the hotel’s continued involvement.
The fourth staging of the Mouttet Mile invitational is set for Caymanas Park on December 6, 2025.
“We have done it over the years and it [partnership with Mouttet Mile] has been a success and we would like to continue the partnership,” Mahbubani told the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide at a press conference held at the ROK Hotel in downtown Kingston on Wednesday.
“Given the exposure and the brand that we are associated with, I believe it will be successful again. Exposure and the fact that we will be able to showcase Caymanas, everything that has to do with the culture of Jamaica, we are rooted to be the hotel for that,” Mahbubani further said.
Mahbubani shared his personal experience with the event.
“I had only been to one before as I only started a year ago and I think that it [Mouttet Mile] was very symbolic. I got a lot of feedback about the event and so now another event and I am happy to be a part of it again,” he noted.
He also highlighted the artistic and cultural aspects of the event.
“I think the whole artistic part of, you know, the dress code, I get to meet the different players in the market, and I think it creates a great connection for the future of Jamaica,” Mahbubani ended.
Chloleen Daley-Muschett, Supreme Ventures Limited’s (SVL) assistant vice-president of public relation and corporate affairs, expressed excitement about the fourth staging of the Mouttet Mile, highlighting the return of ROK Hotel as a sponsor.
“Mouttet Mile, we are back on for the fourth year, we are very excited about it and we are very happy to welcome our first sponsor back on board ROK Hotel,” she said.
Daley-Muschett noted that the luxury hotel’s premium element aligns with the event’s ethos.
“They are a luxury hotel that matches the premium element of the Mouttet Mile event. We are looking forward to hosting some of our events here and hosting our overseas guests here as well,” she noted.
She emphasised the importance of promoting sport tourism, with hotels playing a key role in showcasing Kingston and Jamaica’s unique experience.
“We are very much about promoting sport tourism and a big part of sport tourism is, of course, the hotels aspect of it. Experiencing Kingston, experiencing Jamaica in a different way, and ROK Hotel is a brand that matches that ethos and we are very happy to be back on board with us,” Daley-Muschett explained.
Daley-Muschett anticipates great racing and an enhanced experience for overseas guests, building on last year’s excitement.
“We are looking for a great sport, great races on the track, you know, last year was very exciting and we know that this year will be even better, we are looking to have our overseas guests share that experience with us,” she ended.
The fact that the Mouttet Mile (invitational) carries a total purse of US$300,000 makes this the largest purse for a single event offered at Caymanas Park. The remaining races on the day will carry purses of over $1 million, which also makes this race day the richest in the English-speaking Caribbean.
The Mouttet Mile takes its name from its main sponsor Paul Mouttet, chairman of Trinidad and Tobago-based Zodiac Caribbean Ventures Limited, currently the largest shareholder of SVREL’s mother company Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL).
