18,000-member ASTA kicks off its Caribbean Showcase 2025 at Sandals Southcoast
THE powerful American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) kicked off its 2025 Caribbean Showcase Saturday evening at Sandals Southcoast resort in Westmoreland, promising 350 of its lucky members the time of their lives over four days.
Head of the 18,000-strong ASTA, Zane Kerby welcomed the travel advisors, formerly travel agents, to the cocktail reception, minutes before ‘liquid sun’ or rain poured down its “blessings”.
Welcome was also extended by the resort’s General Manager O’brian Heron.
Kerby will be specially honoured Monday for his outstanding tourism work impacting the Caribbean by an impressive gathering of regional tourism ministers headed by Jamaica’s Edmund Bartlett.
The travel advisors will be shown what the island has to offer in order to sell their clients, mostly in the United States, Jamaica’s premier source market for visitors, while being wined and dined in style by their host, Sandals Resorts International.
