Homer Davis touts achievements at JLP mass rally
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for St James Southern, Homer Davis, who is seeking a second term, has highlighted billions of dollars of investment in water supply systems now underway as part of his achievements.
“More than $1.2 billion is being spent on water projects across the constituency,” Davis told supporters.
He was speaking at the JLP mass rally, now underway at the historic Sam Sharpe Square, where the party will officially launch its manifesto ahead of the September 3 general election.
Davis also announced that about 10 roads in the constituency are slated for repairs under the Shared Prosperity through Accelerated Improvement to our Road Network (SPARK) programme.
He urged supporters to return all JLP candidates across the five constituencies in St James.
“Don’t be fooled. Don’t be fooled by empty promises,” Davis said.
“Your government is working in your best interest. I say to you, we cannot be fooled by ‘pie in the sky’ promises. You must stick to what you know. Stick to what is working for you. Stick to the progress of this Government, stick to the prosperity of this Government, and choose Jamaica,” Davis told the sea of green-clad, vuvuzela-blowing, bell-ringing Labourites.
