Issa shares lead at end of Junior Pan Am Golf second round
MATTEA Issa scored consecutive three over par 75s, for a two-day total of six over par 150, to share the lead for a second day with Livieres Rodriguez of host country Paraguay who also shot 75 for the round at the Junior Pan Am Games yesterday.
Issa describes round two as being solid.
“I had a lot of fun,” she says. “Overall, it was good.”
Issa now looks forward to the third and final round while hoping to continue her good run in the games.
Trey Williams, who is also representing Jamaica at the games, ended the second round two shots better than the first round for a combined total of 162. He was in 19th position at the end of round one.
“Yesterday was a long day; it was a long 27 holes,” he says. “I slightly improved from the day before.”
The players were on the course for nine extra holes, to make up for time lost due to the weather conditions at the start of their competition.
The players began the competition under rainy and cold conditions, which have since improved.
Team Manager Alison Reid credited the players with making the best of the conditions while competing with the best junior golfers in the Pan Am region.
