Owen Hill resigns as Professional Football Jamaica CEO
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Owen Hill has resigned from his post as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Professional Football Jamaica Limited.
His resignation takes effect on September 26, 2025, and comes after three years at the helm of the company which operates the Jamaica Premier League (JPL).
Expressing sincere gratitude to the company, Hill described the decision as difficult but said it came after months of professional reflection.
“Growth, in its truest form, often requires reinvention, renewal and the courage to evolve beyond familiar boundaries. It is within this context that I embrace my next chapter—one that will allow me to unlock new levels, explore fresh frontiers and continue contributing to the development of our society in meaningful ways,” he said in his resignation notice seen by Observer Online.
Hill described his three years as CEO as one of the most fulfilling experiences of his career.
“Together, we’ve built momentum and credibility—strengthening the JPL’s brand, commercial reach, broadcast footprint, and connection to fans both at home and across the diaspora. These successes are not simply milestones; they are markers of the extraordinary collective achievements we’ve shared to elevate Jamaican football,” he said.
Hill expressed confidence that the league is well-positioned to build on its upward trajectory, citing the talent, resilience and leadership across the organisation.
He further committed to supporting the transition to a new successor and operating in a consultative role, should it be deemed beneficial.
