Danielle Green scores double to lead Mt Pleasant over Moca FC in Dom Rep
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Danielle Green scored a double to lead Mt Pleasant FA to a 2-0 win over 10-man Moca FC in their Concacaf Caribbean Cup Zone A game played at Estadio Polideportivo Moca in the Dominican Republic in the first meeting between the teams on Wednesday.
The win saw Mt Pleasant FA race to the top of the zone with six points after they had beaten SV Robinhood of Suriname 1-0 in their opening game played at the National Stadium in Kingston.
It was Moca FC’s opening game and the loss left them at the foot of the points table.
Green sent Mt Pleasant FA into the lead in the 31st minute after he was sent through by Gadail Irving and then added a second in the 60th minute when he was quickest to a ball that was fumbled by a defender and powered it past the goalkeeper.
Moca FC was reduced to 10 players in the 61 st minute when Argentine Valentin Sabella was sent off by referee Edson Lieveld who had a busy day, issuing nine cards, five cautions to Moca FC players and three to players from Mt Pleasant FA.
