Taxi operator charged with rape
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 28-year-old taxi operator has been charged with rape following an incident in St Thomas on Tuesday, March 11.
He has been identified as Norrel McLune, otherwise called ‘Zye’ or ‘Hawkeye’ of Whitehall district in the parish.
Reports from the Morant Bay police are that sometime on March 11, McLune picked up a teenager while she was on her way home.
McLune then reportedly turned off in nearby bushes, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
A report was made to the police and investigation ensued.
McLune was arrested and subsequently charged on Tuesday, August 26.
His court date is being finalised.
