Guardsman Group awards scholarships to 30 outstanding PEP students
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Guardsman Group Limited awarded scholarships to 30 students who performed exceptionally well in their Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examinations at its 31st Annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Wednesday.
Since the inception of the scholarship programme in 1994, Guardsman Group says it has remained steadfast in its commitment to empowering the children of its dedicated security officers through educational grants, stationery packages, and consistent moral support.
The group says the annual event is a true testament to its deep-rooted values in education, community development, and nation-building.
The ceremony brought together the scholarship recipients, their families, and members of the Guardsman team for a luncheon and handover at Hope Zoo’s Treehouse Pavilion. The day was filled with laughter, pride, and inspiration, as students were celebrated not just for academic excellence but for their determination and potential.
Executive chairman Kenneth Benjamin stated that “Supporting education and investing in the future of our children has always been, and will always remain, one of my greatest passions.”
“This programme is not only about giving back to our country, but also about honouring the hardworking men and women of the Guardsman Group by ensuring that their children are afforded opportunities to thrive. I will always stand firmly behind this effort, and I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all our scholarship recipients and their families. Keep striving for excellence, the future is bright,” said Benjamin.
Nicholas Benjamin, deputy executive chairman of Guardsman Group, said, “The chairman always told me, ‘Whatever you do, do it well,’ and I carry those words with me every day.”
“He has always championed the development of our nation’s children, believing that education is the foundation for a better Jamaica. His humanitarian spirit lives on through his work with the Hope Zoo and his unwavering support for community upliftment. This program is his legacy, and we are proud to continue building on it,” he added.
This year’s ceremony was supported by partners and sponsors, including Hope Zoo, which provided the venue and gave all recipients and their families a guided tour of the zoo and Pinglinks, which gave discounted tablets to the top-performing students and also discounted products to all 30 students.
Guardsman says it pledges to keep building communities, one scholarship at a time, with gratitude to all contributors and excitement for the future.
