Three ITA examination depots to be used as polling stations on Election Day
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Island Traffic Authority (ITA) is advising the public that three of its service hubs (Examination Depots) will be used as polling stations on General Election Day, September 3.
These are the Swallowfield Service Hub in St Andrew, the Spanish Town Service Hub in St Catherine and the Montego Bay Service Hub in St James.
Regular operations at these locations will, therefore, be suspended on the day. Customers who are seeking to acquire driver and vehicle management services may visit any other service hub, which will be fully operational, with staff being allowed the required time-off to exercise their right to vote, pursuant to the Representation of the People Act (ROPA).
Regular operations will resume at all locations on Thursday, September 4, at 8:30 am.
During the period, customers may also contact the ITA via email at info@ita.gov.jm or via the entity’s social media pages.
“We thank the public for their understanding and cooperation as we support the democratic process while continuing to provide essential services,” the ITA said.
