PNP has an appointment with a political ‘backsiding’ – Marlon Morgan
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Member of the Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) Communications Taskforce, Marlon Morgan, has declared that the Opposition People’s National Party (PNP) are set to get a political “backsiding” in Wednesday’s General Election.
“So my message to you is to be very focus, be very alert, keep the energy up, keep energised, remain enthused, because we are going to whip dem (the PNP) when Wednesday comes around!” Morgan told a sea of energetic labourites gathered in Old Harbour Road, Spanish Town, St Catherine on Sunday night.
Quoting the Jamaican saying, ‘Fire deh a muss muss tail, him think a cool breeze’, Morgan declared that, “They (the PNP) have an appointment with a backsiding Wednesday, and they cannot miss that appointment!”
Morgan noted that the JLP has been campaigning across the country, with a stop in Portland Eastern on Saturday, where Ann-Marie Vaz is the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP).
Morgan said as Prime Minister Andrew Holness led the JLP’s team across the constituency, the work of Vaz — who is often referred to as ‘Action Ann’– was evident.
“We saw that Eastern Portland, and the parish of Portland in general, is poised for take off, and when you look at the land available in Portland, when you look at the opportunities that Eastern Portland, in particular, is ripe with, it makes you wonder how come the only idea that could come to such man is to build house inna swamp gi di people of Portland,” Morgan argued.
He accused PNP President Mark Golding of trying to steal Andrew Holness’ plans and policies, which he likened to as a “baby”.
Morgan said fiscal responsibility was Holness’ baby, as well as increasing the income tax threshold.
