We will never surrender Jamaica to the PNP, declares McKenzie… again
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Deputy Leader Desmond McKenzie says the Andrew Holness-led government has done “wonders” for Jamaica since it first assumed office in 2016. Stating that the People’s National Party (PNP) is “bad for Jamaica”, McKenzie reiterated his bold declaration that the JLP will “never surrender” the country to its political opponent.
“We need to transfer this energy here tonight into the ballot boxes,” McKenzie urged Labourites gathered in the thousands at Old Harbour Road in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Sunday.
He said the JLP was not afraid, noting that the party doesn’t “mind people who want to badmind us”.
“One thing we saying to them that we will never surrender Jamaica to the PNP! We don’t want them to mash up Jamaica again!” McKenzie said in an energetic manner, repeating the declaration he made in February of this year.
He added: “Jamaicans we have come too far. The government of Dr Andrew Michael Holness has done wonders for Jamaica since 2016.”
The Kingston Western parliamentary hopeful opined that the country was moving in the right direction and “the best place that it could ever possibly want to be”.
“Jamaica is good, Andrew Holness is good. The only thing that is bad for Jamaica is the People’s National Party,” McKenzie stated.
