Holness predicts victory for JLP as he ends final pre-election mass meeting
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Leader Andrew Holness is predicting that his party will remain in power following the counting of the ballots on Wednesday night.
“I [will] see you [on] the night of the third as we celebrate our (the JLP’s) victory for Jamaica,” the prime minister told Labourites who blew vuvuzelas wildly at the JLP’s final mass rally in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
He said he believes the decision is clear for Jamaicans to make when they go to the polls on September 3, 2025.
“This election, my Jamaicans, is a pivotal one in our history. We can decide to accept a promise, or you can decide to stick with performance and delivery. That’s the choice. Promise, [or] performance,” Holness opined.
Earlier, after outlining several plans to improve water, housing and roads for Jamaicans under a JLP third term in office, Holness declared that Jamaica will become the Singapore of the Western Hemisphere relative to its economic growth and performance.
“This administration, having stabilised the economy, having finely tuned the economy, is now going to press gas and accelerate the growth,” he said.
