Kiwanis Club of New Kingston honours two outstanding clergymen
THE Kiwanis Club of New Kingston, through its Human and Spiritual Values Committee, has for several years recognised the work of service partners and unsung heroes like the clergy, who provide support in various ways in their communities and the nation, generally.
So on August 20, at its weekly meeting held at the Police Officers’ Club in St Andrew, the club honoured two exemplary clergymen, Rev Dr Stephen Jennings of Mona Baptist Church, and Rev Dr Stevenson Samuels, JP, of Waltham Park New Testament Church of God, for their unwavering commitment to uplifting lives and strengthening communities through faith, compassion, and guidance.
At the heart of this initiative is the committee, which is tasked with promoting moral and spiritual well-being among members, while also ensuring that the wider community benefits from values-based projects and programmes.
Its work serves as a reminder that service to humanity goes hand in hand with nurturing the spirit, building character, and fostering a culture of empathy and care, the club said.
Both honourees were celebrated and presented with plaques and citations during the special club meeting, which saw club members, congregants, Kiwanian leaders, members of the service leadership programme, youth, and supporters, in attendance.
