Bailey-Tye Cadamarteri to make Reggae Boyz debut vs Bermuda
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Bailey-Tye Cadamarteri of English Championship club Sheffield Wednesday, has been named in Jamaica’s starting team for their opening final round World Cup qualification game against Bermuda in their Concacaf Group B game in Hamilton, Bermuda on Friday.
The 20- year-old striker, who played for England at the Under -19 and Under -20 levels last year, will be making his debut and will lead the line along with Renaldo Cephas of Russian Premier League club Pari Nizhny Novgorod and Tyreece Campbell of Charlton Athetic in the English Championship.
Damion Lowe, who recently signed with MLS outfit Houston Dynamo, will captain the team in the absence of goalkeeper Andre Blake with Greg Leigh, Dexter Lembikisa and Richard King, forming the back line.
Jon Russell, Kasey Palmer and Isaac Hayden will play in the midfield.
Jamaica will be seeking a winning start before Tuesday’s game at home against Trinidad and Tobago with the group winners qualifying for next year’s FIFA World Cup to be hosted in Concacaf by the USA, Canada and Mexico.
