Gage drops Dip Duk for the ladies
Dancehall artiste Gage has returned to the scene with a song for the ladies titled Dip Duk.
According to the entertainer, there was popular demand for his music.
“I was on TikTok and someone cursed me to go back to the studio. It was the first song I thought of, then [producer] My Pree sent me a rhythm and the rest is history,” the deejay told the Jamaica Observer’s Splash.
Produced by My Pree Recordz, as well as his very own Triple M Records, it was released on August 8.
Meanwhile, there is an accompanying music video that is on its way to 230,000 views on YouTube (as of Thursday). The entertainer explained that the visuals came together how they were meant to.
“Popular TikToker Hauto has a team in Jamaica that shot the video. There was a viral video on TikTok where Hauto played the song and released a small piece of the video, and I wasn’t too happy with that. But it actually worked, because the song has since gone viral,” he said.
To date, Gage has worked with a number of producers including Renaissance Disco’s DJ Karim, JA Productions, and Ajang Music Productions.
Hailing from Clarendon, the deejay, whose real name is Ryan Douglas, is known for his live show rounds. He once entered the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall Competition and participated in several contests staged by Moby Records. The artiste is popular for songs like Throat, Kitty Cat, and Good Body Gyal Fi Get Tings.
There are other projects in the pipeline.
“I hope that this song continues to build momentum. I have more music and content coming up next,” Gage said.
