Supremasi dominates O&S Tack Room Trophy feature
Supremasi, owned by Yardie Stables and trained by Anthony Nunes, proved his class and talent by dominating the $1.25-million O&S Tack Room Trophy at Caymanas Park on August 30, 2025.
Ridden by Romario Spencer, Supremasi won the Restricted Overnight Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward over one mile by an impressive 3 ¼ lengths.
This victory was particularly sweet for Yardie Stables’ Bruce Baylis, considering Supremasi’s previous disqualification for causing interference and intimidation in a similar race on July 26. Despite the setback, Baylis and Nunes remained confident in the horse’s abilities and focused on moving forward.
“The plan was not to look back at the disqualification on last, the plan was to go forward and that’s what he did,” Baylis told the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide.
Supremasi’s performance on August 30 was nothing short of exceptional. He took the lead and maintained it throughout, showcasing his speed and endurance. The final time was 1:40.0 (24.0 x 46.4 x 1:12.2 x 1:25.4).
Baylis expressed his joy over the local horse’s dominant win against imported competition.
“We always know that this Supremasi, by his name, is really a super horse. Supremasi went forward to the lead and we put all that behind us including the field,” Baylis said.
The race was barely underway when Supremasi asserted his dominance, quickly taking the lead and setting a comfortable pace. Florindia, ridden by Raddesh Roman, Huntsman with Reyan Lewis up, and Main Mistress under Omar Walker, trailed behind, trailed the leader down the backstretch.
As the field approached the half-mile turn (800m), Supremasi didn’t let up. Instead, he upped the tempo, leaving his competitors to struggle in his wake. Turning for home, Supremasi didn’t ease up on the gas, powering down the track with fierce determination.
The crowd watched in awe as Supremasi crossed the finish line first, his powerful performance earning him the win. Main Mistress put up a good fight, finishing second, while Allegiance, ridden by Aaron Chatrie, secured third place. Supremasi is a four-year-old bay colt bred by Savoy Stomp out of the Friendly Lover mare Beware Baby. He was winning for the fourth time from 16 starts and has earned over $4.4-million Stakes.
