Woman In Love prime for ‘Fanna’ Griffiths Classic

WOMAN In Love, a talented three-year-old chestnut filly, is poised to make a strong impression among her peers. Despite being relatively new to the scene she’s already shown impressive form and could potentially lead the pack in the $3.75-million Winston “Fanna” Griffiths OD Classic feature race this afternoon.

With a pedigree that boasts Sensational Slam as her sire and Woman Is Boss as her dam, Woman In Love has a solid foundation for success. She’s demonstrated her capabilities with a notable second-place finish behind
Linguist in the Jamaica Oaks, running 10 furlongs (2,000m) in just her fifth career start. Notably, she was coming off two consecutive wins, showcasing her growing confidence and skill.

Recent workouts have further highlighted her potential. On August 25 she galloped seven furlongs (1,400m) in 1:31.2, and on August 31 she covered five furlongs (1,000m) in 1:01.2.

Trained by Peter-John Parsard and partnered with champion jockey Raddesh Roman, Woman In Love is tipped to win this trophy race. With her talent, form, and the uidance she has received she’s a strong contender to take the top spot.

The native-bred three-year-old Graded Stakes contest over nine and a half furlongs (1,900m) is positioned as the eighth event on the nine-race card with a post time of 4:55 pm. The first race is at 12:15 pm.

In addition to Woman In Love, other capable runners vying for the top spot in the trophy race should be Prince Roy, Bob The Builder, and Pretty Perfect.

After a string of disappointing runs Prince Roy has shown signs of returning to form with a strong second-place finish on August 23. With his well-being seemingly in check he is expected to put in another solid effort.

Although Bob The Builder was never a factor in the recent Jamaica Derby he previously showed promise with a neck win over this distance on July 19. While he might not win this race he is expected to run well.

Regarding Pretty Perfect, this filly has demonstrated remarkable resilience and heart. After finishing third in both the Jamaica Oaks (10 furlongs) and Jamaica Derby (12 furlongs), four days a part, she’s had a well-needed break. With the rest period Pretty Perfect could be a top contender in this race.
