Swaby joins in mourning death of Alan ‘Skill’ Cole
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Mayor of Kingston Andrew Swaby has joined Jamaica in mourning the passing of football legend and cultural icon, Allan ‘Skill’ Cole.
Mayor Swaby in his tribute reflected on Cole’s impact, saying: “Just last week, I had the privilege of speaking with Skill. As always, he shared words of encouragement and advice. That was who he was, always ready to guide and always ready to give of himself. His passing is a great loss to Kingston and to Jamaica.”
Swaby said Allan Cole was one of Jamaica’s finest footballers, celebrated for both his brilliance on the field as well as his enduring friendship and collaboration with Bob Marley.
Swaby added that his influence extended beyond sports into music, culture and community life.
