CIBC Caribbean sponsors Golden Age Home 40th anniversary dinner and awards ceremony
RESIDENTS and staff of the Golden Age Home recently toasted four decades at a special dinner and awards ceremony.
The event, which was supported by CIBC Caribbean, paid tribute to the institution’s four decades of service, compassion, and care for Jamaica’s elderly community.
“CIBC Caribbean is honoured to celebrate this significant milestone with the Golden Age Home. For 40 years the home has stood as a symbol of care and dignity for some of our most vulnerable citizens, and we are proud to play a role in recognising the dedicated staff, partners, and advocates who make this work possible,” said Annique Dawkins, head of country, CIBC Caribbean Jamaica.
The milestone celebration featured a special thanksgiving service, followed by the dinner and awards ceremony, where dedicated staff, long-standing partners, and key stakeholders were recognised for their unwavering commitment and contribution to the home’s mission.
The event also brought together business leaders, advocates, and public officials who have supported the Golden Age Home throughout its journey, highlighting the strong partnerships that have sustained its work in providing comfort and dignity to its residents.
Delfreda Cammock-Thorpe, operations manager of the Golden Age Home, expressed gratitude for the support, noting that it was “not only about looking back on our journey but also about looking forward with renewed commitment.
”We are thankful for sponsors like CIBC Caribbean, whose partnership enables us to continue providing quality care and to honour those who have dedicated their service to our residents,” she said.
Matron Eunice Adeoye, speaking on behalf of the caregiving staff, said the residents are at the heart of everything they do at the home. “Being able to serve them with love and dedication is our privilege, and having the recognition and support of our partners strengthens our mission,” she added.
