St Catherine teen charged with murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 14-year-old student of Newland, Portmore, St Catherine has been charged in connection with the murder of another teen in Beverly Flat in the parish on Friday, September 5.
The deceased has been identified as 15-year-old Duscane Elliot, student of Beverly Flat, Newland, Portmore, St Catherine. Reports from the Portmore police are that about 12:30 pm, the teen went to Elliot’s home and attempted to set his clothes ablaze.
An argument developed between the two during which the accused allegedly used a half of a pair of scissors to inflict a stab wound to Elliot’s chest.
The police were summoned, and Elliot taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The 14-year-old was later arrested and reportedly gave a caution statement admitting to the crime.
The teen was subsequently charged with murder.
