Garth Gayle and Vilma Charlton recognised

 

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican track and field stalwarts Garth Gayle and Vilma Charlton were recognised for their service to the sport in the North America, Caribbean and Central America (NACAC) Region at the World Athletics Congress in Tokyo, Japan.

 

Gayle, the president of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA), was awarded the Veterans pin while Charlton, an Olympian, was presented with a plaque of merit.

 

Former United States (US ) Track and Field president Stephanie Hightower and one of the most respected international technical officials in track and field, road racing and cross country, David Katz, were also recipients of the veteran pin.
